ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

At Port Fòrum, a marina located in a coastal area of high ecological value, we are firmly committed to sustainability, integrating environmental responsibility principles into all our operations, projects, and infrastructure.

Therefore, we are committed to:

  • Integrating environmental considerations into the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure, prioritizing low-impact solutions such as the new breakwater reinforcement using reduced-mass concrete blocks, which lower emissions versus conventional construction.
  • Protecting the marine environment and port surroundings through preventive actions, clean technologies, and management systems certified under the ISO 14001 standard.
  • Conserving natural heritage through the installation of regenerative solutions like Ocean Ecostructures Live Busting Units, which promote biodiversity and restore marine habitats affected by port infrastructure.
  • Optimizing the use of natural resources by promoting energy efficiency, minimizing water and energy consumption, and generating solar power through our own photovoltaic installations.
  • Developing low environmental impact and high-efficiency projects, prioritizing actions that reduce the ecological footprint without compromising the operational and technical performance of our infrastructure. This includes smart port construction design, use of sustainable materials, adaptation to local ecosystems, and the implementation of innovative technologies that balance functionality and sustainability.
  • Promote continuous improvement by encouraging the use of clean technologies, such as collaboration on the development of the first Spanish hydrogen-powered vessel, and by fostering exemplary environmental performance across all port areas.
  • Collaborating with institutions, concession holders, and the port community in the creation and implementation of environmental regulations, as well as in educational and awareness-raising initiatives, working together to become a benchmark marina in the nautical sector.
  • Raising awareness among employees, users, and partner companies through environmental training and education campaigns that foster a culture of ecological respect and responsibility.
  • Establishing effective and participatory communication channels with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and fluidity on environmental matters.
  • Promoting studies and research that contribute to the protection of the marine environment, supporting scientific, technological, and educational projects aimed at the sustainability of the port environment.

Marina Port Fòrum is committed to complying with applicable environmental legislation and other requirements to which we voluntarily subscribe.

We promote environmental protection through the continuous improvement of our management system, the active involvement of our staff and partners, and the establishment of goals consistent with this policy and the organization’s context.
