Nautical life is so exciting that it should be accessible to anyone. At the Catalan Sailing Federation they work to make the sea a more inclusive place, betting on values that inspire us at Port Fòrum and our Barcelona International Sailing Center (BISC).

Work beyond sports

Since 1965, this private entity works every day to meet the needs of all groups, offering programs and services to enhance Catalan sailing and promote maritime culture and its values among young people, people with functional diversity and the elderly. A federation made up of beach and port clubs, athletes, technicians, judges and sports associations.

Sailing towards a more inclusive sea

To build a fairer and more equitable maritime world, the Federation works on different programs aimed at clubs and affiliated schools. For example, those that promote gender equality in the sailing world or activities for the social inclusion of people with disabilities, enhancing their autonomy, quality of life and health.

The Foundation has also created InserVela, a program for the labor insertion of young people at risk of social exclusion, providing training and socio-educational and psychological support so that they can work as collaborating sailing monitors, once they have completed their training.

From Port Fòrum, we take this opportunity to thank all the work of the Catalan Sailing Federation. Because, day by day, it shows us that the sea can be a means to build a more empathetic and humane world.
