Our company, Marina Port Fòrum, assignee and manager of the Port Fòrum assets, announced the beginning of a new phase with the sale of Marina Port Premià as the culmination of its strategy to strengthen the company and focus all its resources on the relaunch of the new proposal for Port Fòrum.
Located at the crossroads between the extension of Barcelona’s Diagonal Avenue and the Mediterranean Sea, just 15 minutes from the center of Barcelona, Port Fòrum was created on the occasion of the Universal Forum of Cultures held in 2004.
New management and concession rights extension
Recently, Marina Port Fòrum has reached the extension of the management and exploitation contract of the concessionary rights of Port Fòrum until 2051, thus consolidating its long-term commitment to this space and the development of activities in its surroundings.
News of the new Port Fòrum park
The project to relaunch the Port Fòrum park represents a significant investment of more than 26 million euros. This includes the construction of a new breakwater and concrete blocks, as well as improvements to the dock to ensure safety and comfort in the face of storms and climate change.
The investment includes the expansion and improvement of the facilities, including the expansion of the number of moorings in the dock and the construction of a new dock that will house the base for the boats participating in the Maxi Yacht Cup 2024 regatta under the umbrella of the 37th America’s Cup Louis Vuitton, as well as 34 new parking spaces located in front of the new pontoon. The technical area will be expanded with 3,000 m2 of new dry dock esplanade and 24 electric vehicle recharging points will be inaugurated with very high-speed charging capabilities and 24-hour service.
Project agenda objectives
The new project includes the conceptualization of this port facility into a leisure park, whose urban enclave and controlled accessibility will turn it into a “slow space” in which to enjoy the environment and time in a relaxed manner.
The project consists of an ambitious ESG agenda that will incorporate the transformation of its facilities to ensure the procurement and use of green energy. Supporting the regeneration of the biodiversity of its marina and the creation of a green dock will be some of the main points of the agenda. Collaborations with social entities will be key to the development of an inclusive and diverse economy.
